Should I write my own lease or use the Texas Association of Realtors lease form?

I'm a Realtor, so I'm always going to use the Texas Association of Realtors lease form. It's standard, every agent out there knows it, and it's a solid lease. If you're doing it yourself, though, you do have some options.

You can go download a blank lease online, or there are different websites that have random legal forms. I wouldn't do that, though. A lot of times, they're missing important things. If I were you, I would just find that TAR, Texas Association of Realtors Lease, online.

It does have a warning there - it says it's only authorized for use by a Texas Realtors. But just so you know, there's no form police out there looking for people who are using forms they aren't authorized for.
