What we can learn from the WEALTHIEST ppl in Texas

The Austin American-Statesman put out an Instagram post recently that talked about the wealthiest ZIP codes in the Austin area and how they're also some of the wealthiest in Texas…

That’s cool and all, but this slide REALLY caught my eye…

The top few zips’ average incomes are astronomically high.  But that's not the interesting thing to me. To me the interesting part is the percent of that income that came from wages. 

See how low that percentage is compared to the “lower” wage earners?  I took it one step further and figured out what the actual dollar amount of wages was for each zip…

Now does anything jump out at you? The thing I noticed is that while these are very good wages, they aren't insane.  In fact, the wages in the top zip code are pretty similar to the wages in the top ten zip codes even though the average income is 3-4x that of the other zips. It means this group has the most in investment income, which ultimately comes from owning assets (real estate, stocks, businesses, etc).
